| EmailMarie Claire Uwera has been serving as an Assistant Lecturer of Computer Science at the University of Rwanda, College of Education (UR-CE) since 2012. She holds a Master of Science (MSc) in Computer Science from the University of Mysore, India (2015). Marie Claire also earned a Postgraduate Certificate in Learning and Teaching in Higher Education (PGCLTHE) from UR-CE in 2016 and a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science with Education from the former Kigali Institute of Education (KIE), now part of UR-CE, in 2011.
In addition to her academic qualifications, Marie Claire is a Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS) and is part of a global community of distinguished achievers proficient in Microsoft Office. She has also obtained certifications in various programs, including Blended Learning Practice, Learning to Learn Online, and Technology-Enabled Learning from the Commonwealth of Learning and Athabasca University. Moreover, she completed the Digital Skills Foundation (DSF) course in 2023, Competency-Based Education (CBE) in 2023-2024, and has contributed to blended learning initiatives since 2020.
Marie Claire has practical experience integrating ICT in teaching, learning, and higher education. She is an active member of The Organization for Women in Science for the Developing World (OWSD).
Her involvement in projects includes :
ICT-supported active learning to enhance teaching and learning of science and basic computing in lower secondary schools in Rwanda.
Effective use of computer-based simulations in teaching mathematics and physics in lower secondary schools in Rwanda.
Using an artificial intelligence tool to support the effective facilitation of experiments in undergraduate science subjects at UR-CE.
