Biography
Rashidi Mwimba has been serving as
an Assistant Lecturer at the University of Rwanda since March 2014. He is
affiliated with the School of Animal Sciences and Biotechnology within the
College of Veterinary Medicine and Animal Sciences. He holds a Master of
Science (MSc) degree in Aquaculture from the University of Liège. His research
interests focus primarily on aquaculture and ichthyology, with particular
emphasis on fish biodiversity, aquaculture production systems, and the
sustainable development of the fisheries sector. Mr. Mwimba has authored and
co-authored several scientific publications on Rwandan cyprinid fish species.
His research has also explored the growth performance and economic efficiency
of the principal cultured fish species in Rwanda, namely Nile tilapia, African
catfish, and common carp, contributing valuable insights to the diversification
and advancement of the Rwandan aquaculture industry.
