BYUNGURA Jean Claude

Biography

Jean Claude Byungura is an Associate Professor of Computer and Systems Science at University of Rwanda. He holds a PhD in Computer and Systems Science from Stockholm University and a MSc Degree in Informatics, with Specialisation in IT, Management and Innovation from Jönköping University. Jean Claude also holds a BSc in IT Applications in Management from the former National University of Rwanda. He recently completed a Postdoc research in the area of E-learning for digital health and virtual patient simulation cases (VPS). His research interests include but not limited to ICT in Education and E-learning Systems, Informatics, IT Governance and IT Alignment with organisations. He also interested in digital transformation and agile methods. His publications emphasise on building ICT capacities ranging from Institutional Structure (Policies, Strategies,
Governance, Leadership), Infrastructure (Hardware, Software, Internet and Network access) and Human capacity. Since joining the academic, Jean Claude has been involved in teaching activities at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels, as well in staff continuous capacity development for the adoption and use of ICT in education as well as digital health.
Jean Claude has also been involved in coordinating and managing projects and consultancies related to digitalisation of services in education and health sectors.
