Biography

Philippe Munyandamutsa is an aquaculture and fisheries expert. He holds a PhD in aquaculture and Fisheries, from LUANAR ( Malawi). He obtained his PhD in 2022. This degree was obtained with collaboration of 4 institutions where he performed practical sessions ( Ghent University/ Belgium, Royal Museum for Central Africa (RMCA/ Belgium) and Toulouse University at ENSAT (France). Philippe is currently a Lecturer and head of department of Aquaculture and Fisheries Management at University of Rwanda/ UR-CVAS at Nyagatare campus. He teach mainly the courses: Fisheries management, Fish biotechnology, Fish Taxonomy and Systematics, Integrated Management of Livestock and Wildlife, and Zoology and Entomology, all those courses at Undergraduate level. At Master Level, he teach Animal Systematics and Conservation. His research interest encompasses the aspects of Biodiversity conservation: Lake Kivu haplochromines trophic morphology, Rwandan fish taxonomy, Hydroponics, Animal invertebrates conservation in agriculture sector, Fish path in Hydro-power plants installation, Wetlands restoration and Aquaculture and Fisheries Curriculum Development.
