| EmailMr. Jean Marie Vianney Sindambiwe is a highly creative and motivated public health specialist with expertise in Health Benefits package design, he has experience in Health Economics and Management as currently work as an assistant lecturer at the University of Rwanda, School of Public Health, in the department of health policy, economics and management.
Jean Marie is proactive, enthusiastic with excellent proven problem-solving skills, independence to perform his responsibilities and played great role in team building and motivating others.
Jean Marie has strong work ethics and is good at writing project proposals. He is successful supporting University of Rwanda to Create Health Economics and Financing Hub housed under the School of Public Health under the grant from Africa CDC, to address the current health economics and financing capacity gaps.
From 2021 up to now, He is serving as a research assistant supporting school of Public Health team to develop Health Benefit Package for the Community-Based Health Insurance (CBHI) in collaboration with London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine. This activity requires skills in mapping of health services, gathering economic evidence data from relevant databases (Tufts registry for cost-effectiveness data and IHME for burden of diseases data to support selection process of services.
As training background, in 2023, he was successfully certified in capacity strengthening training on costing of sexual and reproductive health interventions, in cooperation with African Health Economics and policy association (AFHEA) and University of Rwanda. In 2024 was certified in Health and Risks Communications Short Course on Vaccine Hesitancy by Graduate School of Media and Communications the Aga Khan University in collaboration with EAC Regional of Excellence for Vaccines, Immunization and Health Supply Chain Management (EAC RCE-VIHSCM).
Besides academic and research, Jean Marie is social and volunteer person where he volunteered to participate in different Ministry of Health Technical Working Groups such as Health Financing Technical Working Group where he contributed his expertise on health financing (insurance) related matters. Socially, Jean Marie involves in organizing several social events inside and outside the school.
